Covid-19 Updates

March 17, 2020 By AP Admin

We understand the concern that many may have over the Covid 19 pandemic and would like to minimize anxiety regarding visits to our office.

We have implemented the following recommendations:

First, we are only allowing 1 parent or adult accompany the child/patient to the office.  If you have a protective mask, please wear it while at the office.
Since Covid 19 does seem to affect seniors in a more serious manner we would like to suggest that seniors avoid accompanying the children to the office.

If a senior does need to bring the child or if you or your child have a chronic illness such as sickle cell disease or immune suppression we would suggest that upon arrival at the parking lot you give us a call to let us know that you are here. You can remain in your car and we will call or text you when the room is available. We are also able to do this for anyone who has any concerns about remaining in the waiting areas.

If your child has acute lower respiratory tract infection which includes fever, cough and shortness of breath we will need to know if he/she has been in contact with a person who is known to have tested positive for COVID-19.

We will also continue to have the same high standards of disinfecting our exam tables / areas after every visit and in addition well visits are assigned to certain rooms to minimize exposure to sick patients.

We highly recommend keeping all well visit appointments as annual well visits are an important part of your child’s well-being as well as keeping up to date on vaccines.

As always, we cannot emphasize enough that hand-washing is One of the best methods to prevent spread of illness.

We are all aware that there are almost daily changes to the recommendations regarding this virus and would ask for your continued patience as we try to stay abreast of all the new developments.
