Dr.Tonia Barton was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, until her family relocated to Chattanooga, TN when she was a teenager. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-professional Biology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She attended Ross University School of Medicine where she received her M.D. degree in 2009.
She completed her pediatric residency training at St. John’s Children’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, and became a board certified pediatrician in October of 2012. She practiced as a locum tenen pediatrician for 2 years before completing a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2015.
Her interests include sleep disorders and community health. She is excited about joining the A Plus Pediatrics family in October of 2015 and being in close proximity to Disney World. She has always felt a close connection to children which translates into her unique way of interacting with them.
She makes their health and well-being her top priority. She loves spending time with family and friends, learning about new cultures, cooking, and attending theatrical and artistic productions.
